Since the eighties, some of us have been implicated in the management of subjects affected by acute hemorrhagic edema of young children.
Since 2000, cases with this vasculitis syndrome presented to us are carefully recorded. We also have promoted various original studies, two systematic reviews of the literature and two comprehensive literature reviews. Finally, we had the opportunity to investigate a family with four affected members and identified a truncating variant in the HCK gene.
We recently implemented the Italo-Swiss working for acute hemorrhagic edema of young children. The main aims of the group are to facilitate the dissemination of knowledge about the condition among health care providers, patients and their families, to provide a forum for discussions and networking, and to encourage research.
